DOUGLAS CORKER - BASEBALL HISTORIAN

Douglas Corker first fell in love with baseball as an eight year old boy watching a game at his local park. From that moment, the sport became part of who he was. He played his juniors and seniors with the founding Victoria Park Baseball Club and later gave back to the game through committee service alongside his beloved late wife, Rose, serving as Secretary and then President. Becoming the first full time paid Secretary of the WA Baseball League deepened his connection to the sport and sparked a passion for preserving it's history. Over decades, Douglas carefully kept records, memorabilia and stories from generations of players. This book fulfils a lifelong dream and stands as his heartfelt legacy to the game and community he has loved for a lifetime.

JANE HOME - IMAGES EDITOR

For Jane, baseball has never just been a sport, it has always been family. Born into a household where her father was a player, coach and administrator, and her mother a dedicated scorer at local, state and Australian level, the diamond was simply part of everyday life. With two brothers who played and husband Larry who represented QLD, NSW, WA and Australia and later becoming an inaugural inductee into the Australian Baseball Hall of Fame, baseball has shaped every chapter of her story. Jane's three children followed naturally, with two proudly representing WA. Being part of this book has been deeply meaningful for Jane, helping honour her father's lifelong dedication and preserve his legacy for future generations.
